We feel it is essential to conserve and enhance important and historic structures.

These buildings require care and a sympathetic approach when it comes to their renovation. Additionally, design solutions for conversion and re-use should be considerate and produced in a manner that will enhance the original building.

There are added challenges with historic buildings, particularly those which are Listed and in a Conservation Area. Early contact with the Local Authority and speaking 'the right language' very much assists an evolving project. Added to this, there is the need to understand the construction methods of older buildings and how to sympathetically and cost effectively repair them. WWD knows how to handle these issues.

All property is an investment and period buildings need not be a scary prospect. They can produce high quality and desirable accommodation but the criteria to produce a profitable outcome are more complex. Therefore the earliest involvement of a design team who know what they are doing is essential.
